Cleaning agents

Electronic circuits and circuit boards are often encapsulated or coated to protect components for longevity and reliability, but also for technical production reasons. To ensure reproducible, reliable adhesion of the protective coating, but also to prevent superficial corrosion and generally guarantee the functioning of such components, they must be clean during encapsulation or coating.

Possible impurities are

  • Flux residues from soldering processes
  • Coatings from the production of the actual printed circuit board production
  • Grease from fingerprints or in general
  • Particles ranging from dust to machining residues from other processes
  • Adhesive residues from previous process steps
  • Moisture
  • Salts

In addition to physical methods of component cleaning, such as plasma processes (also component surface activation), laser processes, etc., cleaning agents are often used as the simplest variant. Depending on the contamination, the components are treated with different polar cleaning fluids, possibly in combination. Wiping processes (if feasible) are often more effective than simply applying a cleaning agent. ISO-ELEKTRA offers various pre-treatment and cleaning agents in cooperation with company ECS.

Cleaning fluids are also used in mixing and dosing systems. They are used to clean hose lines, mixing heads and pipes and also for subsequent cleaning of contaminated components. Products are also available here.
